Academics

St. Cecilia Catholic School named a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School

St. Cecilia Catholic School believes in the ongoing Christian formation of the whole child. This is accomplished by developing the greatest potential of each individual spiritually, morally, intellectually, socially, culturally, and physically. Furthermore, at St. Cecilia Catholic School, we integrate our Roman Catholic traditions and beliefs with a strong academic program that blends the education of the child with a commitment to developing each student’s talents. Our students are then prepared to assume roles as active, contributing members of the Catholic Church and global community.

Academic Leadership Team:
The role of the Academic Leadership Team is to be the academic compass of the school. Members work to support both teachers and students and ensure the school has the necessary instructional resources to implement the curriculum.

Academic Coaches:
In addition to our Academic Leadership Team, we have a team of Academic Coaches to support teachers in implementing effective lessons and strengthen instruction of the school curriculum. These coaches are well-versed and skilled in their content area to ensure our teachers are getting the necessary support to strengthen student learning.

The Literacy Coach works directly with teachers in the implementation of the Balanced Literacy Program and effective use of the Fountas and Pinnell resources. Providing classroom-based demonstrations, collaborative and one-on-one support, and facilitating necessary professional development are ways the Literacy Coach supports the teachers. The Coach focuses on enhancing teachers’ ability to provide instruction that builds students’ sense of engagement in the ownership of learning. The Coach also works with administrators and teachers to collect and analyze data, interpret it, and use it to guide instructional decisions.

The Math Coach works with teachers in the implementation of the school’s mathematics programs Bridges in Mathematics in PK4 through 3rd grade and Envision Math in 4th through 8th grade.
